Bai Chunli, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently revealed at the "International Symposium on National Laboratory Construction and management" held by the Chinese Academy of Sciences that China will set up a number of comprehensive national laboratories in major innovation fields guided by national goals and strategic needs. He introduced that relevant departments are planning to build a number of national research bases with larger volume, interdisciplinary integration and comprehensive integration, so as to build the national laboratory into a highland for gathering first-class talents at home and abroad and a force for important national strategic innovation.
